Every year in Belgium, 1 in 10,000 children under the age of 15 is diagnosed with cancer. At UZ Leuven alone, doctors make an average of 80 diagnoses a year.

At the end of last year, Lily-Rose, the daughter of one of our colleagues, was diagnosed with a retinoblastoma tumour…

THE STORY OF LILY-ROSE

At the end of last year, Lily-Rose, the daughter of one of our colleagues, was diagnosed with a retinoblastoma tumour.

To prevent the tumour from spreading, her right eye was surgically removed and she underwent chemotherapy. Today, the chemotherapy has been completed and her right eye has been completely reconstructed. As a result, she proudly wears a magnificent prosthetic eye that is barely distinguishable from her other eye. In the meantime, Lily-Rose is getting better every day and going back to school half days at a time!

Unfortunately, Lily-Rose is no exception.

UZ GASTHUISBERG

Fortunately, oncology patients and their parents benefit from fantastic daily support from an extraordinary team of professionals and volunteers at UZ Gasthuisberg.

Every day, doctors, nurses, teachers, chiropractors, psychologists, volunteers and clinicians strive to provide the best care and support for their young patients and their parents.
This extra care and support is necessary to allow children to take their minds off this terrible illness for a while.

This care comes mainly from donations. Thanks to donations, the following projects have been set up:

Music therapy: under the guidance of a professional music therapist, children with cancer can express their range of emotions through music.
Pearl necklace: Unique pearls make difficult treatments more bearable.
Tailor-made home care for children with cancer.
Thanks to research and studies, survival rates for children with cancer are increasing every year.

We want to help… But there’s always more we can do, and that’s why on behalf of Bergerat Monnoyeur Belgium, Eneria Belgium & Luxembourg and their staff, we warmly invite you to support our efforts in running a fundraising campaign for the UZ Gasthuisberg Children’s Cancer Fund.

STRONGER TOGETHER

We are convinced that joint action can bring about real and lasting change.

So we’ve set up a few projects to raise money for this great project and charity.

Our first project, of all the action, is the sale of exclusive Cat® products, which are not available anywhere else.

All profits will be donated to the Childhood Cancer Fund.

We hope to raise a nice sum of money that we will donate together (Lily-Rose, her parents, Bergerat Monnoyeur and Eneria) to the UZ Gasthuisberg at the end of 2024.
